On the seventh day, God rested.
Just think about that a moment.
God rested, enjoying the goodness and beauty of creation.
Sabbath (Hebrew for cease) is written into the fabric of the universe.
The Lord of the Sabbath made resting one of the ten commandments. He even expected the farm animals to have a day off each week and the land to be allowed to rest every seventh year.
Creation is restored by rest, both by physical rest, and by abiding in Jesus, our Sabbath Rest (Hebrews 4:9)
Practice: Spend a day or an hour or a moment intentionally and contemplatively resting.
Watch for God resting with you.
